This appendix describes the default directory structures created when Oracle8 Enterprise Edition is installed on a Windows NT Server and client machines.
Specific topics discussed are:
Oracle Installer places all Oracle8 database products for the Windows NT Server by default into subdirectories of ORANT.
The subdirectories of a basic Oracle8 installation are shown below. If you installed additional products, other subdirectories are created.
For Oracle8, all .DLL and .EXE files and configuration variables have their version numbers appended. This convention allows you to maintain multiple releases of these items for backward compatibility. For example, the executable for the Oracle Names Control Utility version 8.0 is NAMESCTL80.EXE.
